T1 Intrathecal Morphine for Postoperative Pain Relief

AB A study was performed on a group of inguinal herniorrhaphy patients comparing postoperative analgesia of spinal anesthetics with spinal anesthetics plus intrathecal morphine. Those patients receiving intrathecal morphine obtained significant pain relief as compared with the control group. Five of seven morphine patients developed urinary retention. Generalized itching resulted from the morphine use.
