Abstract

The maternal complications that can follow regional anesthesia are reviewed. Methods of managing the physiologic aftereffects, hypotension and headache, are summarized. Iatrogenic side effects, cardiovascular collapse and prolonged sensory/motor deficit, are discussed, with the conclusion that such complications are avoidable.
