Abstract

Alpha adrenergic blocking drugs have not previously been a major form of treatment for causalgia and reflex sympathetic dystrophy, partly because of side effects and tachyphylaxis. We describe here a patient with long-standing causalgia who obtained partial pain relief and increased skin temperature from prazosin, a new, well-tolerated alpha adrenergic blocker.
